History

  • Founded in 1909 in Batavia (now Jakarta) by the government of the Netherlands East Indies by the name Metaal Onderzoek Voor Laboratory under Burgelizke Openbake Warken (now the Department of Public Works)
  • 1912 expanded to  Laboratory Voor Materials Onderzoek
  • 1921, moved to Bandung, in the Complex of Technische Hoogeschol (ITB now)
  • In 1934, it was placed under the Van Ekonomische (Ministry of Economy / Trade)
  • 1942, under the rule of Japanese Government  changed to Laboratorium Zeiro Sikendya, and then become Laboratorium Kogio Sikendya.
  • 1945, changed to Centre for matrial Investigation, under the Ministry of Prosperity
  • In 1952-1960, it was placed under the Ministry of Economy and the replaced under the Ministry of Industry
  • 1961, moved to Jl. Sangkuriang Bandung with the name of Center for Materials Investigatons
  • 1963, placed under the Ministry of People Industry
  • 1971, placed under the institute of Industrial Research and Education
  • 1974, placed under the Center for Metal and Machine Industrial Research and Development, The Ministry of Industry.
  • 1980, placed under Agency for Research and Development of Industry, The Ministry of Industry and Changed to Center for Research and Development of Materials and Technical Product
  • 2002, becoming Center for Materials and Technical Product or known to be called B4T
  • 2006, becoming Center for Materials and Technical Product (SK Menteri Perindustrian No. 43/M-IND/PER/6/2006)
